“I think readers are allowed to feel however they want to about a particular title and a particular creator, and to follow or not follow that title/creator as they see fit". - Oh, I see! Marvel will continue to publish stories with racism, misogyny, destroying heroes making them violent, murderous, just to sell more. Fuck you! Does not like, do not buy! Well… after all, I can't read Spider-Man. Unfortunately! After the M-word speech in Uncanny Avengers, I have not read Rick Remender anymore.
Marvel will continue to publish stories of all kinds, whatever we deem fit.
And you get to continue to read them or not read them as you see fit.
See how that works?
I don’t know how any of that calls for being foul-mouthed, though.
Nerd Rage.
Wait, why can’t they read Spider-Man? Or is that a case of “I can’t because I don’t want to. Stop making me do things that are purely based on my choices”?
My guess is, Marvel ruined Spider-Man for the reader by putting the villainous Doctor Octopus in the role. The character will forever be tarnished by the horrific things that were done by him during this time. How dare Marvel rape his childhood.
Agreed. If only that were an interesting, well-illustrated take on Spider-Man that offered new insights into the character. That poor, poor anonymous Marvel “fan.”
lol. Exactly.
I have have only read the first few issues of the series. I got sidetracked after I started it, but it what I read was enjoyable. The series illustrates why Peter is Spider-Man very well. I don’t know where Doc Ock is going to go later in the series, but he very much misses the point early in the series. It is a testimony to Peter, not a tarnishing of him.

horsefaced said: Isn’t violence a foundation of the superhero genre? I mean, it’s about people solving conflicts by beating each other up.
